We hope you are all doing well and looking forward to getting back to doing some events, or even "racing" this summer.

We were dissapointed to have to cancel the EG10k last year, so we're working hard to try and get it back up and running this year. We are excited to say that we'll be working with the good people at East Grinstead Runners as co-organisers to bring you the 2021 event.

At the moment we are in touch with the venues and services we need to deliver the 10k and as soon as we have the confirmations we'll get the bookings open. The finer details such as services available on site, prizes and medals are yet to be confirmed, so please bear with us.

We are aiming to have this event licensed by UK Athletics as usual, so we will be complying with whatever guidelines are in place in September - hopefully nothing too drastic by then!

As always, please contact secretary@egtri.com if you have any questions.

Welcome to the EG10k race page!

  • Multi-terrain race on a mainly flat course taking in scenic bridle paths around East Grinstead

  • Licenced by and run under the rules of UK Athletics (2021 license no. to be confirmed)

  • All the mod cons: Chip timing, medical service, water station, indoor registration, toilets, parking, on site motivation from Meridian FM and finish line catering by East Grinstead Lions!

  • Medal included in the entry price for all competitors, plus category prizes!

The EG10k is a community event organised “for runners, by runners” with all proceeds going to our charities, East Grinstead Lions and Prostate Cancer UK. It is organised and supported by volunteers from the East Grinstead Triathlon Club and the East Grinstead Athletics Club who will provide friendly encouragement, no matter what the weather.

The race is dedicated to the memory of Andy Ripley OBE, English rugby union international, an active East Grinstead sportsman and former member of both EGAC and EGTC, who died from prostate cancer in 2010.

The event attracts 300-400 competitors and caters for all abilities, from those looking to complete their first 10k to some of the talented athletes in our local clubs such as Oxted Runners, Worth Way Runners and Lingfield RC who may be chasing the 2017 course record of 33:25 minutes.

The first 7km are off-road on well-surfaced bridleways and the final 3km are on residential roads. The route is well marshalled and has a water station at 5km.
