Sprint Triathlon
Suitable for beginners through to seasoned triathletes, this is one of the friendliest most scenic races in the calendar, now in our 39th year!
After a 400 m pool swim at Kings Leisure Centre, you will cycle 26 km on an undulating and scenic route through the villages of Forest Row and Hartfield, before running 5 km (two laps) around East Grinstead town to finish.
We are offering our popular club wave option again this year, for clubs entering with a large number of participants and wanting to start together in a dedicated wave. Please email race@egtri.com for more details. Note – participants must still enter as normal through the BTF website entry page.
Race Recce
A race recce will take place 2 weeks in advance of the race, on Saturday 25th April. It provides the opportunity to get to know the bike and run course and get some friendly race advice from our club members. Please email race@egtri.com to reserve your place as we have limited capacity for the recce. Further information to follow nearer the event.
Try-a-Tri & Youth* Race
Our shorter Try-a-Tri event is open to both Female and Open categories, providing the opportunity for everyone to have a go and build their confidence with this shorter format.
Many of our female club members took their first steps on their triathlon journey at our Try-a-Tri before progressing to standard distance and even iron-distance events.
*The same course is used for our Youth race and please note that our Youth Race is for competitors 15-19 years old only.
The Try-a-Tri event starts with a 200 m (8 lengths) pool swim and it doesn't matter how long it takes you - we will provide all the encouragement and support you need. You will then cycle 11 km though the village of Ashurst Wood before setting out on a 2.5km run around the scenic town of East Grinstead with marshals cheering you all the way to get you across that finish line.
Aquabike
This features the 400m swim and 26km bike of the Sprint Tri, providing the opportunity to compete if you are struggling with a run injury or running is just not your thing!

“Thanks for another great event yesterday. It is really well run, well organised and efficient but also friendly and fun. It’s the 4th straight year for me and I will definitely be back next year! The same is true for many other discerning competitors."
